The Web3 Unleashed #3 Hackathon, which was organized in collaboration with DMCChas come to an end, according to Village piecethe second largest cryptocurrency exchange in the world based on trading volume. After 90 teams from six innovation tracks competed globally, the event recognized five projects with a total prize pool of US$140,000.
Under the theme “Shaping the next wave of Web3: driving the future of decentralization”, the hackathon, held at S/O Uptown Dubai, brought together international developers, founders and investors. This year’s edition broadened its focus by adding two new categories, DeFAI and DeSci, to the already existing tracks of DeFi, Web3 Gaming, SocialFi, Infrastructure and Tokenization. The more versatile and technologically advanced solutions being developed across the decentralized technology landscape were represented in the larger framework.
A panel of venture capitalists and industry experts heard the ideas of ten finalist teams. Five teams were selected for top honors based on their technical prowess, innovation and potential impact.

Partners such as DWF Labs, TOP Ventures, CROSS, Verse8, The Open Platform, CV Labs, Hacken, Cointelegraph, Blockchain for Good Alliance (BGA)and the Blockchain Gaming Alliance provided support for the hackathon. Throughout the tournament, partners provided exposure, resources and mentorship.
With a strong emphasis on solutions that solve real-world difficulties, judging criteria included innovation, technical execution, practicality, impact, commercial potential, presentation quality and team experience. The Web3 Unleashed series, according to the organizers, continues to highlight new developments in the blockchain industry and supports Dubai’s growing status as a hub for Web3 development.
