Brics pays 43% of peanut exports in the Chinese yuan


BRICS member Brazil has exported over 180,000 tonnes of peanuts to China, RussiaAlgeria and the Netherlands 2025 and 43% of exports were paid in the Chinese Yuanen. This comes after the alliance Recently settled soybean payments in the local currency.

The BRICS Alliance runs the Chinese Yuan for agricultural products, including peanut exports. China and Russia have agreed with Brazil to obtain agricultural exports in the local currency.

The latest data from the Institute of Agricultural Economics (IEA) highlights that Brazil produced 700,000 tonnes of peanuts in 2025. Of which 35,000 tonnes were sent to China. Only Brics members Russia and China paid the Chinese Yuan for peanut exports.

About 11% of the peanut exports were sent to Algeria and 7% to the Netherlands. Those exported to the Netherlands will later be sent to the other parts of Europe. Brics causes the Chinese Yuan to get mileage in agricultural exports.
